What Not To Wear in Italy || ShopSofia
While Italians are notoriously (almost dangerously) relaxed about sure things, they can be a bit… dismissive, if your look is out of place. Plus, Italy is greater amusing if you try a bit to combine in, and who knows—you may truly take in a bit of il dolce vita in case you walk a mile in another man’s Italian loafers.
I recognize they’re comfy, however, don’t pack those crocs
(and some of these different items) and you’ll have a better trip to Italy. I
promise.
Leave the Socks at Home
Here’s a fun fact—Italians don’t really put on socks, or at
the least now no longer socks you could see. Ankle socks are fine, but many
Italian men and women simply buy nice espadrilles or loafers and move al
fresco. It’s a chic, glossy look that is going nicely with a cuffed pair of
journey chinos or culottes, and the best part is, that it’s one much less issue
to pack!
An elegant pair of leather-based straps sandals also are a
move-to for many Italian women, if not as pretty as many guys. You can apply
the same logic to high heels—strap sandals are the call of the game.
Bonus: you could kick your shoes off and enjoy a bit of
gelato in the park or perhaps even reenact La Dolce Vita in a fountain or in
case you’re in Rome on a hot summer day.
Don’t Wear a Snapback Cap
I love my Wallowa path hat from Tillak, however, it’s a path
hat and genuinely isn’t constructed for an elegant Italian vacation. Italy
isn't the time to rock a baseball cap, regardless of how cool it looks.
Caps and snapbacks immediately mark you out as a traveler in
Italy (and the maximum of Europe). Best case, that’s annoying. Worst case, you
end up a goal for theft, scams, harassment, or simply getting ripped off or
left out by Italians.
If you need to put on a hat to shield you from the solar,
snag a greater stylish journey hat on your Italian journey or choose one up
while you’re there.
