Bottoms.   Denim shorts are a summer staple in every nook of the world, right? Wrong. You'll not often see Italian ladies wearing shorts. Keep it cool and choose a floaty maxi skirt. Although, narrow-fit chino shorts are a super flexible alternative for guys.

Tops.   Italian womens tops display pores and skin in the summer, however tastefully. Strappy and off-the-shoulder tops are must-percent items, however, remember: revealing tops should not be worn while journeying religious sites (see the "what to put on sightseeing in Italy” segment below).

Dresses.  Italian summertime season attire is bright, and light and provides respite from the humidity. Dresses also are perfect for taking you from day to night time without having to trek back to your hotel room.

Shoes.   Getting lost down the cobbled side streets is one of the most exciting elements of any Italian holiday. That's except you are carrying your lovable Kurt Geiger heels. But comfort would not always mean sacrificing style. Match your shift dress with a pair of speakers or opt for a few breathable sandals. My Tom's sandals have carried me from town to town and maybe worn with pretty much anything. Flip-flops are a no-no outside the beach.

Swimwear.   Don't overlook your statement bikini and a poolside pull-over. Think bold ‘70s florals and big ruffles.

Handbag.   A stylish purse ought to be massive enough to suit your camera, phone, small pockets, and jumper, but small enough not to weigh you down. If you need to select simply one bag, possibly leave from the Fuschia purple purse at domestic and choose an impartial shade like black, army, or tan. This advice is going for guys, too. Italian men are not afraid to carry a person's bag.

Backpack.  Because sometimes your lovable purse needs to be ditched for something more practical. If you're planning to hike or head to the beach, a backpack is a must-have essential.
